Berezivka: from a chumak stop to a town
Chumak salt traders once rested where Berezivka now stands, at the crossing of the roads from Ochakiv to Akkerman. The town was founded in 1802 by runaway peasants. After serfdom was abolished it became a notable trade centre and the region's second-largest hiring market for farm workers after Kakhovka, drawing thousands to its Trinity fair. Berezivka became a district centre in 1923 and a town in 1962.

The town lies on the Tylihul and Tartakai rivers, about 90 km from Odesa on the Pomichna–Odesa railway. Landmarks include St Nicholas Church, the Taras Shevchenko monument, the city park, Kolos stadium and the local history museum. Local businesses include an elevator, a food plant and a bakery, and southern Ukraine's first ski resort opened nearby at Viktorivka. Our courier will deliver flowers to any part of Berezivka.
