Horokhiv: a town from the chronicles
Horokhiv is first mentioned in the Hypatian Chronicle under 1240. From 1487 it belonged to the Sanguszko princes, and on 26 July 1600 Prince Hryhorii Sanguszko-Koshyrskyi and his wife Sofia granted the town Magdeburg rights. In 1795 Horokhiv passed to Walerian Strojnowski, whose residence park still survives.
Where locals take their flowers
The town stands on the Lypa River at the crossing of the Lutsk–Lviv and Novovolynsk–Berestechko roads. Landmarks include the Church of the Ascension (1844) with its bell tower, the park of the former Strojnowski residence, the Horokhiv History Museum and the Second World War memorial. In Soviet times Horokhiv was known for making farm machinery. We will deliver a bouquet to any address in town, home, office or festive table.
