What to Know About Hoshcha

Hoshcha's chronicle history begins in 1152. The settlement belonged to the Hoisky family; in the first half of the 17th century a school operated here, and in 1639 a branch school of the Kyiv-Mohyla Collegium was moved to the St Michael Monastery. Crown Voivode Adam Kysil bought Hoshcha from the Solomyretsky family and in 1648 negotiated with Bohdan Khmelnytsky from here. A park was laid out in the late 18th century, and in the 19th century the estate belonged to the Walewski family.
