Khodoriv: from its first mention to today

Khodoriv was first recorded in 1394 as Khodoriv-stav, a settlement on an island between a pond and a branch of the Luh River; its old seal with a fisherman holding a net inspired the modern coat of arms. The town received Magdeburg rights in 1436 and in the early 17th century belonged to Count Fedir Tyszkiewicz. From the 1890s it was a railway junction. In 1918–1919 the Supreme Command of the Ukrainian Galician Army was based here, and on 27 February 1919 Symon Petliura arrived in Khodoriv.

Famous natives of Khodoriv
