Irshansk: from the founding of the mining plant to today

Irshansk is a relatively young settlement, founded in 1953 alongside the Irshansk Mining and Concentrating Plant. It grew around the extraction of ilmenite concentrate, with deposits 6–21 km away. It became an urban-type settlement in 1960 and has been classed as a settlement since 2024.

Standing on the Irsha River in Korosten Raion, it is a centre of Ukraine's titanium industry. Local landmarks include the Titan Palace of Culture, the School of Arts, a memorial to Holodomor victims and a plaque to V. Hulii, the plant's second director.
