Flowers in Korosten delivered to a home or office: roses, hydrangeas, flower boxes and bouquets for any occasion. We add a greeting card at no charge.
Korosten's chronicle history begins in 945, when the Primary Chronicle mentions Iskorosten, capital of the Drevlians, in connection with the death of Kyivan Prince Ihor, against whom the Drevlians rose under Prince Mal. In 946 Princess Olha burned the town; archaeologists have found three hillforts of the 8th–13th centuries on its site. A castle was built in 1589, and in 1598 Iskorosten received Magdeburg rights. The Kyiv–Kovel railway arrived in 1902, and on 25 February 1918 the Central Rada adopted the tryzub as the coat of arms of the Ukrainian People's Republic here. Korosten has had town status since 1926.
Composer, conductor and bayan player Anatolii Biloshytskyi (1950–1994), after whom the town's art school is named, was born here, as were athlete Svitlana Horbenko (b. 1985), a European champion and 2008 Paralympic bronze medallist, materials scientist Oleksandr Pyliankevych (1933–1989) and architectural historian Volodymyr Yasiievych (1929–1992).
Korosten lies on the Uzh River and is a major railway junction. Drevlianskyi Park has a monument to Princess Olha, and nearby stand the Prince Mal monument and a statue of the Protection of the Mother of God; the Olha's Baths rocks on the Uzh are one of three local geological landmarks. The Local History Museum and the Skelia military history complex keep the region's past. The town is known for granite, rosin and porcelain, and hosts an international Deruny (potato pancake) Festival every September since 2008. Our courier will deliver flowers to any part of Korosten.
