Netishyn: from first record to today

Netishyn first appears in written sources on 12 May 1542, when, under the division of Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi's estates, the village passed to his widow Beata Kostelecka. In 1690 it went to Crown Hetman Stanis?aw Jan Jab?onowski and later became part of the Jab?onowski family's Kryvyn estate. A wooden Church of St George was built by parishioners in 1870. In 1975 the decision was taken to build a nuclear power plant nearby: construction of the town began in 1977, Netishyn became a town on 21 August 1984, and the first unit of the Khmelnytskyi NPP was connected to the grid on 22 December 1987.

Famous people of Netishyn

Local pride includes sabre fencer Alina Komashchuk (b. 1993), Olympic champion in 2024, silver medallist in the team sabre at the 2016 Olympics and world champion.

Netishyn today

The town lies on the Horyn River on the border of Khmelnytskyi and Rivne regions, and the Khmelnytskyi NPP is the largest enterprise in the region. Places to see include the local history museum with 18 halls, the Cathedral of the Icon of the Mother of God “Burning Bush”, St Michael's Church, the Palace of Culture and a 65-metre mural on Budivelnykiv Street. On 27 April 1990 Netishyn raised the first blue-and-yellow flag in Khmelnytskyi region. We deliver flowers to any part of Netishyn.
