Ovruch, a town from the chronicles
Ovruch enters written history in 977, when the Hypatian Chronicle mentions Vruchyi as the town where the Drevlian prince Oleh Sviatoslavych died. Around 1190 Prince Riuryk Rostyslavych built a stone Church of St Basil on the site of a wooden church from 997. King W?adys?aw IV granted Ovruch Magdeburg rights in 1641, and in 1648 a Cossack regiment led by Ivan Holota was formed here.
Names linked to Ovruch
Cossack leader Ostafii Dashkevych (c. 1472–1535) and Sicilian Baroque architect Stefano Ittar (1724–1790) were born here. Poet and translator Andrii Malyshko (1912–1970) worked in Ovruch as a teacher.

The town lies in the Zhytomyr Polissia region on the Noryn River. The central park features the Polissia Lady Potato sculpture, the symbol of a local harvest festival. We will deliver your bouquet to any address in Ovruch.
