Vasyshcheve: from the first mention to today
The settlement arose after 1638 and was first recorded in 1647 as a fortified sloboda on the Bilhorod-Chuhuiv defensive line. It is named after Vasyshchev, who commanded the troops stationed here. It was an urban-type settlement from 1938 and has been classed as a settlement since 2024.
