Maldives: where to go?

Maldives are one of the few resorts where tourists can fully forget about civilization. You will not see cities with an ancient history and beautiful, grandiose monuments left since past centuries, and attractions, of which there are many, are mainly of natural origin. However, even here there are a couple of places, which are made by human and it will be interesting to see them even for the biggest fans of natural beauty.

Male City is the capital of the republic, and concurrently the most populous city in the Maldives. In the capital, there is everything that it should be in the east city: the mosque, the market, a lot of souvenir shops, small cafes with exotic foods and more. There is virtually impossible to get lost in Male, all streets are located on three major roads. Also there are a huge number of hotels on the island, each of which has its own dinghy. There is a little of night life in the Maldives, but have to say, loud parties are not needed. National Museum is popular among tourists, located in the Park of Sultans. There are a lot of archaeological finds opened by Thor Heyerdahl during expeditions to the Maldives. The museum has a large collection of sultans` jewelry, ancient manuscripts of the Koran and many other historical artifacts.

Atolls - coral islands which actually the Maldives consist of. There are so many of them, and each is a whole separate marine eco-system, and we'll tell you about the most frequently visited:

  • South Male Atoll is a system of 30 islands, 17 of which are occupied by hotels, 3 are inhabited by people, and the rest - are uninhabited. It differs with especially white sand and amazingly clear water will open its secrets to anyone who stays here. You do not have to sail far into the ocean - seascapes spread right near your house!

  • Atoll Seenu - one of the most beautiful in the Maldives. During the World War II there the British base of the Air Force was situated. Since then road network has been remained, which connected the islands Feydhu, Maradhu and Hitadhu. The largest island of the atoll Gan is connected to the airport by regular flights in Hulhule, Male.

  • One of the most sparsely populated atolls in the Maldives is Daalu. There are only two hotels that are opened for tourists, Vilu Reef Beach & Spa and Velavaru Island Resort, offering boat trips on other islands, diving, night fishing and other marine activities.

  • Ari Atoll consists of 26 islands and 18 resorts islands inhabited by locals. This atoll is the most popular and stands out among other atolls with well-developed tourist infrastructure, a large number of hotels of different categories, and of course its natural resources. Things to do in the Maldives

If you have already enjoyed the turquoise waters and endless white sand beaches and want to stay active, then there is definitely something to do in the Maldives. We offer you some of the recreational activities that will help brighten up your holiday:

  • Snorkeling. This is probably the first thing you need to do on the Maldives, because the underwater life of coral reefs will lead you to the delight and amazement;
  • Sailing, water skiing, surfing ... these and much more you can try ordering boat;

  • Dolphin and whale watching, as well as feeding the fish and stingrays. This activity goes far beyond the customary subsequent to us swimming with a mask. In the Maldives, there are 21 species of whales and dolphins, you will agree, is something to see!
  • One day on a desert island. Believe us, it sounds worse than it actually is.
